Exvania

Exvania is an arcade game which was released by Namco in 1992 only in Japan.

Exvania is 2D arcade multiplayer game, similar to Bomberman series. Four (human or CPU) medieval-type characters – Ward, Emilio, Charles and Karl – fight for control of the land, by battling through various castles, trying to gain control of each one. When one of the lords wins a battle, he’ll receive a medal – and once he has won three medals, he will gain control of the current castle and the game progresses to the next castle. Each player begins each match in one of the four corners of the screen, with chain whip and bombs – whip can crush walls and stun enemies, bombs can kill rivals. The goal is to trap the other players with bombs, killing them.
