Itadaki Street 3 is, despite what the name might suggest, the fourth title in the long-running Itadaki Street series. In this Monopoly-inspired digital board game, players take turns moving around the board, which is divided into districts made up of multiple properties. Landing on a property allows you to buy it, and owning multiple properties in the same district increases their value, but landing on a property owned by another player forces you to pay them based on the property’s value. There are also other types of spaces around the board: chance spaces let you draw a card with a random effect, transport spaces move you to distant locations, and the ever-useful bank gives you a bonus when you reach it.
This is the first title in the series to be presented in full 3D, including elaborate backgrounds for each map. There is also an in-depth tutorial mode to teach new players how the game works. In addition to the standard Free Play and Tournament modes, there are two new modes present: Training mode, where the player teaches a computer-controlled character by example, trying to train them to be a top player; and Itadaki Quest, which gives specific single-player objectives to complete on preset maps. There are more than 30 maps to play, including returning maps from previous titles.
