Kakutou Bijin Wulong

Kakutou Bijin Wulong (Fighting Beauty Wulong) is a shonen manga series by Yugo Ishikawa There are currently 19 volumes. The story has been adapted into an anime which spans two series. Both anime series covers volume 00-18. The first series is Fighting Beauty Wulong and the second is Fighting Beauty Wulong: Rebirth. Both series have approximately 25 episodes apiece.

The lead character, Mao Ran, a person of Chinese origin born and raised in Japan, has been trained in the secret martial art of her family by her drunken lecherous grandfather Master Mao Hun. Her grandfather has promised her that he’ll tell her what happened to her parents to encourage her to train and fight. Without her knowledge, her grandfather signs her up to participate in a televised martial arts competition between female martial artists known as “Prime Mat”. During the course of the manga and anime it is revealed that Ran’s mother married Cao Da Hen and gave birth to Ran’s step sister Rin chan.

The first season of Fighting Beauty Wulong concluded on March 25, 2006 and Bandai rushes a fighting game based on the animation to market this week. The storyline revolves around a girl named Mao Ran who is the reluctant keeper of her family’s fighting discipline which adapts well to women’s professional wrestling. The PS2 game features 3D grappling action where Ran faces off against other she-devils in the ring as well as training exercises where she rousts groups of Yakuza, a bear, and assorted street goons who materialize out of thin air.

As the girls battle on stage, their bosoms seem to shudder with every blow and animated clothing as well as swishy hair add to the kinetic motion of the visuals. Purists will enjoy the Story Mode which faithfully follows the events of the animation and starts off with gramps tricking Ran into a wrestling tournament. Before she battles however, Ran has to punch and kick her way through rain-soaked streets brimming with thugs. Two players may bout in the VS Mode and a Collection Mode allows peepers to check the fighting amazons out as they punch, kick, and otherwise perform according to the options selected on screen.

Mao Ran may look like an average teenage girl at first blush, but she is in fact a master of Mao Juhe Kenpo, a secret martial art passed down through her family for generations. After her grandfather and mentor, Master Mao Hung, signs her up for a televised all-female fighting competition called Prime Mat, she decides to take part in order to find out the truth about her parents.

Fighting Beauty Wulong is an action fighting game based on the manga and anime series created by Yugo Ishikawa and TMS Entertainment. The single-player story follows the plot of the anime unchanged, giving the player a chance to take part in many of the fights from the original series. The game itself is a full-3D beat-’em-up style brawler, and the goal of each stage is to simply defeat every enemy. Ran has a wide variety of different fighting techniques available to her, and can even switch between several different fighting styles on the fly. Items can also be collected that will let the player use extra-damaging special moves. In addition to the main story mode, there is also a two-player versus mode.
