I need some help from the experts.
I’m trying to start collecting PS1 games and I want y’all’s advice. I got a PS1 right at the end of its life, so I never had the true PS1 experience. I got a few games to start and I found this refurbish unit for cheap.
What are some games I should get? I’m talking the must-owns. The weird ones. Lesser known gems. Some of the obscure and interesting releases that people might not know of. Or even just something interesting to you.
I’m planning on saving this post and using the comments as a guide on what to hunt for.

Metal gear solid, vagrant story, parasite eve, spyro, and racing grand turismo 2.
Legend of dragoon was a dope story
Tomba, Wild 9, Hogs of War, Driver 1 and 2, Einhander
Hope you’re into RPG’s cuz that’s a powerhouse for some of the best ones
I highly recommend Oddworld Abe’s Oddysee and Abe’s Exodus 👌🏼

Did I just miss something??? A ton of people are saying Syphon Filter. I’ve seen the name a lot but know nothing of the series… WAS THIS SOME IMPORTANT IP I JUST MISSED OUT ON!?

Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy VII, Suikoden 1 & 2. Parappa the rapper, jade cocoon, pandemonium, die hard trilogy, legacy of kain soul reaver, medieval, crash bandicoot, spyro the dragon, rival schools.

I would say final fantasy 7 through 9, definitely resident evil 1 2 and 3 and there’s many more but everybody is listed them including the resident evil games but one that I have always found is that must is super puzzle fighter II turbo
Check out dino crisis, MDK, Vigilante 8, Fighting Force, Tekken 3, Driver 1,2, Spyro 1,2,3, Dino Croc, Scoby doo game. These are some classics that came to my mind, and I would mind refreshing memories about these 😃

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver for sure! It’s one of my favorite games and lesser known (regardless of being on the greatest hits list)

Legend Of The Dragoon
Duke Newcomb total meltdown., Intelligent cube ,devil dice, Pac-Man world,
Resident evil games, silent hill, Dino crisis 1&2, final fantasy 7-8-9, parasyte eve 1&2. Castlevania symphony of the night, Spyro, crash, tomb raider, tony hawk. The ps1 has a really good library. I’d suggest watching top 100 ps1 games videos.
Nightmare creatures 1 and 2 best horror action game hands down
Rogue trip 2012 is made by the same devs that created twisted metal and vigilante 8 and 2nd offense ! Best car combat games next to twisted metal
Speed punks is so much fun too ! Such a great game 🤙🏻
