A horror-themed Arcade beat’em up originally released in 1993 and certainly one of my all time favourites. A wonderfully violent, over-the-top game that fully embraces the appreciation for the horror genre from start to finish.
Take on hordes of ghoulish monsters all displayed in gruesome pixel detail while listening to an absolutely amazing soundtrack that only amplifies the gameplay. You can tell that Data East had fun with the development of this title, pushing the creativity as far as possible to create such a unique look and visual/audio experience.
Night Slashers is a superb title that is very deserving of the praise it received over the years, both for horror and beat’em up fans alike and certainly should go unnoticed.
It’s also nice to see that this title is finally getting an HD remake after so long. While the early teaser trailer shows very much Work in Progress content, it is nice to see that this game, at long last, is finally getting the attention it deserves and for a new audience to enjoy such a terrific game.
