SEGA’s nostalgic gem, Vay, initially released in 1993 for the SEGA CD and subsequently earning its place as a JRPG cult classic, particularly in the West, is poised for a resurgence. Fans can look forward to an “entirely new, fully reimagined port” specifically tailored for iPhone devices, set to launch later this year.
The original game, developed by Hertz and released by SIMS in Japan, saw its North American debut thanks to the localization efforts of Working Designs. Fast forward fifteen years, the iPhone saw its first port of Vay in 2008, courtesy of SoMoGa. Continuing its legacy, SoMoGa has now announced an upcoming port that promises to be more than just a simple re-release.
Anticipated enhancements include an updated user interface, improved music loops, added support for Bluetooth controllers, and numerous quality-of-life adjustments. While the full details will be divulged gradually over the coming months, the refreshed port aims to modernize the Vay experience for both long-time fans and new players.
