This is a 5 screw cart of Baseball I recently bought. I won’t name from where because I’ve never had an issue with anything in all the years I chose to purchase from this seller.
What I’m hoping is to save this game.
I’m not an expert by any means when it comes to this stuff. Just looking for any tips that may save this guy

  1. This guy shows how to super clean carts safely: https://youtube.com/@RestoreAndReplay?si=nodBkw6YpBCoPlFS
John Riggs on YouTube can show you how to get a cart working if simple cleaning doesn’t work.

  2. Use a soft wire brush and 91% alcohol to clean it up.

  3. Please use alcohol, and Brasso.

  4. rub it with a pink pencil eraser, then clean with IPA

  5. Just buy another cart of Baseball and put it inside this one. It’s the same circuit board and is a $3 cart. If it takes you even 5 minutes to clean this and you value your time at $80/hour then it’s worth just buying a new one.

  6. buy this paste … leaves the copper contacts like new .. i use this for all my games

  7. I go straight to the grinder, then a nice 100 grit, really gets in there. then 220 and just keep stepping up. Should be able to slice a tomato with the board, thats how you know you have a nice edge.

  8. Thats not too bad the OG owner was definitely huffing and Puffing to get the cart to read lol

  9. Guys….. stop using brasso and ruining your stuff. If you’re going to use anything other than alcohol, use CRC qd electronic cleaner. it’s made for cleaning small sensitive electronic components.

  10. I’d clean the pins with a rubber eraser, after that use 91% iso & cu-tip to finish cleaning it off.

  11. 91% alcohol does not remove tarnish!

  12. Use Brasso brass & copper cleaner on a Qtip. Just need a very little. It will turn grey with the tarnish & bring up the copper tabs bright. Then take another Qtip & use IPA to clean the Brasso off.

  13. I’ve brought un-playable games, completely not working at all the way I suggested. If you’re just wanting them to play then this is the best way of making them work again.

  14. Do not use brasso!!! Its an oil base product!!! No eraser!!!. I have a store with 20,000 games. In 12.5 years I’ve only had 13 games I could not make work. Approved as seen by a JSU college chemistry professor. Lysol toilet bowl cleaner without bleach on a qtip. Use very little! Works immediately. Has 10% acid that works. Then 91% alcohol. You will not find anything that works better. Let me know the results. A pic at my store

  15. Brasso is good, IPA (not bir) also good. I’ve also found that glass cooktop cleaner is amazingly phenomenal.

  16. Honestly doesn’t look that bad and would probably have success with just dry rubbing it with a Q tip or Paper Towel. I haven’t used anything other than a Q tip or dry paper towel for 30 years

  17. Blue Magic Metal Polisher… and a microfiber cloth is all u need buddy… nothing more… nothing less

  18. Apply a little Brasso to both sides of the pins. Don’t let it sit too long and wipe it completely off. Use q-tips for all this. Then go back over with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol to ensure all the Brasso is gone. Finish with a dry cloth and they should be shining like new. Repeat as needed. Been doing this for years and I’ve resurrected many carts.

  19. JohnRiggs on youtube shows good cleaning tips and basic stuff in his open cart surgery videos

  20. Start with an eraser (pencil eraser, pink bar eraser, white stick eraser, etc) on the contacts, then clean contacts with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Don’t go straight to Brasso! Give the eraser then rubbing alcohol a try and test it. Then try Brasso and rubbing alcohol if just the eraser and alcohol don’t do the trick. Brasso can remove the gold colored film on the contacts making them more susceptible to corrosion in the future, but sometimes that’s the only way.

  21. Well first what are your pronouns???. Sorry to ask but it seems to be a thing with this group now.
