This is my little retro gaming room. Not as elaborate as other gaming rooms because I chose function over form. Everything is connected and ready to play. I have 2 or more versions of every console except for the Saturn. Original stock consoles are connected to the Sony KV-27FV310 Trinitron Wega.
Anything from 3rd Generation to 5th Generation (Famicom/NES to PlayStation)are RGB Modified console versions that are hooked via RGB scart swtches to the Sony BVM-20F1U Trinitron CRT. These are complete with ROMs & ISO’s in everdrives, PSIO for PlayStation, & Satiator for the Saturn. Scan lines, geometry and 240p picture quality look amazing on the BF1U. Best I have ever seen!
The LG flat panel UHD TV displays modded console versions of PS2, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, & Wii U. All of these consoles are online capable via broadband and/or Wifi for the later gen consoles. All have complete or near complete ISO sets. Consoles are connected via HD Retrovision component and HDMI switches to two OSSC’s (Open Source Scan Converters) scalers that output a cleaner upscaled image to the to the flat panel UHD. This LG model 43UK6300PUE is even capable of displaying 240p RGB from the OSSC’s. So it is basically capable of displaying any console in my home.
The ODE modded Sega Dreamcast with complete iso game library is online capable through a broadband/wifi setup via Raspberry Pi (mini pc). It runs a software called Dream Pi which tricks the console into thinking it is on a 90’s 56k dial up telephone connection. There are fan run servers to this day for Phantasy Star Online, Quake lll Arena, and Chu Chu Rocket which happens to be the 1st online game for the Dreamcast. This Dreamcast console is hooked up via the Toro upscaler to the VGA port of the Viewsonic VLCDS22494 because it looks so clean, especially with scan lines.
Multiple physical games in boxes not shown in pics. Also have Gameboy, GB Color, multiple GB Advance models, DS’s, 3DS’s, PSP’s, and 2 Vita’s. With at least a fully modded version of each. I have 3 other CRT’s (2 Trintrons, 1 Hitachi) and multiple other consoles in other rooms. The Hitachi CRT is an RF only 80’s TV that has a stock Atari, NES, and Genesis hooked via an RF switch that can convert composite to RF. Why downgrade like this? Because it is nostalgic af.
