Why do people need representatives in games and films? I don’t wanna see someone who looks like me in games or films. I wanna see someone who looks great with interesting personality. Imagine instead of great characters like Nathaniel Drake, Solid Snake, Arthur Morgan, etc. we only get protagonists that look like me or random LGTQZ people… That’s literally what western devs are doing and that’s why their games are failing.

  1. Nathan Drake was an unknown random once upon a time…they gotta start somewhere….

  2. …if it fits the story and isnt shoved in just for the sake of it, then its fine. Last of us part 1 and 2 did it both right and wrong at the same time.

Ellie being lesbian made sense, she was around only women during a puberty phase, it makes sense.

But the trans kid in part 2…. just there…. needed representation, the storyline of “he/she felt different, she was outcasted by her tribe….. went nowhere and was pointless.

Back more on point, how about all the LGBTQ gamers create their own studio and create their own games that caters to their own audience that apparently is 20% of active gamers…… stop demanding other groups cater to them.

  3. Try being on the otherside. From any minority group. Could be a physical disability or ethnic group. Doesn’t have to be LGBTQ+ You live each day and feel alone but you suddenly see someone in a movie or game that is like you. That feeling of being seen makes you feel empowered knowing there are others like you. Fills you with hope and confidence. That’s why representation is so important.

  4. Ah yes – that was clearly the problem with Starfield

  5. Why the hell does it matter?

  6. if it fits the story, i see nothing wrong with it. What i don’t like is when it’s sort forced in “for inclusion’s sake”.

  7. I dont care about a characters race or sexuality… what I dont like is developers forcing their ideals upon me in a video game. Make a good character.. thats all I care about. They don’t have to pander one way or the other. All I want is the slop these developers release to just disappear.

  8. Nothing is stopping them from making their own games. The problem is they take existing properties and want to change it…
