While this is hard to accept for movies, typically there is no value in collecting them. Pirates life for me.
Video games on the other hand? Super collectible, oftentimes getting high trade value. A great deal of them go up in value over the years. Physical copies of course. Everybody buying digital only games where they could otherwise buy a physical is absolutely ending the ability to collect. Pretty soon it’ll be all digital 1’s and 0’s only that they can turn off with a flick of a switch whenever they want.

I give it two years max before gamestop either becomes strictly an online store or converts to just pop culture nerd culture stuff and truth be told i think all the next revisions of current consoles will be digital only once we could plug an ethernet cable into our systems or connect to wifi it was over most consumers only care about convenience and only care now that they are legitimately weening us off of physical media
Much like with movies it is not particularly hard to get digital copies they can’t turn off. I have some original arcade carts and boards, my MiSTer plays them better than the original hardware does.
