Blast Chamber – Quickplay – (PS1) – 1996

Hello Retro Gaming fans, Ryan Mcquinn here!

Blast Chamber was one of those games that as a kid I thought was funny but when I got older made me question my childhood state of mind. Played with up to 4 players, the point of the game is to place as many crystals into your reactor as you can within the time limit. The player with the most points wins. There is however a catch, your player has an explosive strapped to their chest. Each time you place a crystal into your reactor, the timer on the bomb goes up. But if the timer reaches zero, you go kaboom! The announcer actually starts to count down from 5 to zero and with a sarcastic “Goodbye”, your character explodes screaming for their life. My wife and I played a single round before she said this game isn’t for her.
