clownmdemu v1.6.8, a Sega Mega Drive emulator, has been released, still in early development. It can run some games, though many features remain unemulated. Key updates include the emulation of 68k delays from DMA transfers, fixing issues in Sonic 2’s split-screen, and improvements to the cheat menu, allowing individual cheats to be activated or deactivated easily. Window sizing is now more adaptable across different DPIs, and race conditions affecting file operations have been resolved. Additionally, input device binding is now more effective, improving compatibility with devices like the Steam Deck, and ZIP-compressed ROMs are now supported.

clownmdemu v1.6.8 has been released. This is clownmdemu, an emulator for the Sega Mega Drive (also known as Sega Genesis). It is still in the early stages of development: it can run some games, but many standard features of the Mega Drive are not yet emulated (refer to clownmdemu-frontend-common/clownmdemu/TODO.md for further details).

Fix for Sonic 2’s split-screen displaying level geometry incorrectly.
Enhancements to the cheat menu:
Cheats can now be activated individually by pressing the Enter key.
Checkboxes have been added to allow for disabling cheats without deleting them.
Window sizing has been adjusted to be more automatic rather than hardcoded.
Corrected the tile viewer to show 16 tiles per line instead of 15 (at 100% DPI).
Overall improvements to window sizing across all DPIs.
Resolved race conditions related to file loading/saving that could lead to crashes.
Input devices are now bound when a button is pressed rather than when they are connected.
Fixed control issues on the Steam Deck caused by input 1 being assigned to a nonexistent keyboard instead of the controller.
Support added for loading ZIP-compressed ROMs.
