clrmame v0.6.3 has been released, enhancing the tool used for scanning and rebuilding MAME machine sets. Key updates include fixes for the scanner, such as proper handling of unneeded files in “empty” machines, improving file renaming processes, and correcting issues with backup machines. Additionally, a new feature, Dir2Dat’s archiveById option, now supports collecting contents from archives not typically named as .7z, .zip, or .rar, meaning it can now include data from .jar files. clrmame v0.6.3 has been released. This lightweight tool helps in scanning and rebuilding MAME (https://www.mamedev.org/) machine sets.

clrmame changelog:
Core:
– Fixed: Scanner, now excludes unneeded files in “empty” machines from being listed or repaired.
– Fixed: Scanner, only renames one file when a machine requires multiple instances of a single file.
– Fixed: Scanner, incorrectly named machines with stand-in files for other sets will be backed up and require a second scan to restore.
– Fixed: Scanner, when a machine is renamed to multiple new instances with different ROM names, a follow-up scan is necessary to ensure all files are renamed.
– Added: Dir2Dat, the archiveById option allows for the collection of content from archives that don’t follow typical naming conventions like .7z/.zip/.rar. For instance, the contents of .jar files will now be included in the datfile.
