Mattel Electronics

Mattel Electronics operated Mattel’s video‑game division from the late 1970s through early 1984, developing and publishing cartridges for the Intellivision home console first released in 1979. Early technical leadership included Richard Chang and engineering lead Dave Chandler; corporate leadership shifted in 1983 when Mack Morris took over the division. Based in Mattel’s corporate organization, it produced a mix of arcade, licensed and educational titles—examples include Space Spartans and Bomb Squad (Intellivoice releases), Tron: Solar Sailer, Scooby‑Doo’s Maze Chase and several ECS/ECS‑enhanced educational games.
