New World Computing, Inc.
New World Computing, Inc. was an American computer game developer and publisher founded in 1984 and based in Agoura Hills, California. Jon Van Caneghem co‑founded the studio with Michaela Van Caneghem and Mark Caldwell and served as its principal creative leader. Active from the mid‑1980s through the early 2000s, the company developed the Might and Magic role‑playing series and its turn‑based spin‑offs, notably the Heroes of Might and Magic line, and produced other PC titles such as Planet’s Edge, King’s Bounty (precursor material), the Xeen pair (Clouds/Darkside) and Inherit the Earth: Quest for the Orb.
