DreamPotato v0.2.0, an alpha Dreamcast VMU emulator, has been released for Windows. This version now supports VMU-to-VMU connections and allows users to manage gamepads linked to different VMUs via the “File->Open Slot 2 VMU” command. Although connections are not perfectly accurate, user feedback is encouraged. Improvements include a recently opened files list, enhanced save state UI, and a screenshot feature. Windows builds are now code-signed to alleviate antivirus issues. While the beta suffix has been removed, the software remains in beta until version 1.0, with ongoing accuracy improvements planned. Download is available.

DreamPotato v0.2.0 has been released. DreamPotato is an alpha-version emulator for the Dreamcast VMU, currently available only for Windows. It can connect with Flycast to create an experience akin to using both a real Dreamcast and VMU. To test this out, you need to build the Flycast vmuconn branch from source.
DreamPotato Changelog::
VMU-to-VMU connections are now possible! (#6)
The use of a second VMU is managed through the “File->Open Slot 2 VMU” option.
Gamepads can now be linked to distinct VMUs.
The connection might not be emulated with absolute accuracy; any feedback regarding issues encountered would be greatly appreciated.
A list of recently opened files has been added.
User Interface enhancements for save states, including slot selection and thumbnails.
Introduced the Take Screenshot feature. (#15)
Windows builds are now signed. Anti-virus programs should stop flagging it upon execution.
I aim to achieve code signing for other platforms as well, particularly for Mac, which is currently hindering the release.
The -beta suffix has been removed from the version number; while itโs not needed, the software will still be regarded as beta until 1.0 is launched. I look forward to refining accuracy prior to that release.
