Eden v0.0.4 has been released. Eden is the leading open-source emulator for Nintendo Switch, derived from the Yuzu emulator, which was initiated by former Citron developer Camille LaVey and the Eden team. It is developed in C++ with a focus on portability, with active builds available for Windows, Linux, and Android.

Eden Changelog:
This update introduces numerous low-level enhancements and build system improvements, along with game fixes and broader platform support for macOS and Android/x86_64. Moreover, the experimental Overlay Applet feature has been incorporated, accessible via “Enable Overlay Applet” and holding the home button briefly, similar to a real Switch.
Universal
Enhanced shader compilation speed
Resolved the issue with the “Audio Engine” setting not saving correctly
Low-level optimizations and performance enhancements (as always)
Experimental overlay and system setup applet support
Fixed various system settings that did not save under certain circumstances
Corrected race conditions and cache/memory issues on NCE
GPU accuracy levels have been revised. Use “Performance” for high efficiency but more frequent graphical anomalies, “Accurate” for fewer graphical issues at the expense of performance, and “Balanced” to blend both.
“Accurate” is not essential for many titles. Most titles that previously required High (like Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Pokemon Scarlet/Violet, etc.) can safely switch to Balanced.
Fixed issues with Metroid Prime 4
Resolved game icon display issues on the Switch Home Menu (QLaunch)
Reduced JIT latency by eliminating unnecessary reg_allocs
Introduced a themed logo for the New Year and Christmas
Corrected a memory leak in video decoding that could cause crashes in games like Echoes of Wisdom
Renderer
Further refinements to graphical issues in Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Scarlet/Violet
Resolved the white screen issue in Lego Horizon
Fixed blurring in Burnout
All platforms and drivers will now strive to continue functioning even if the driver is deemed unsuitable
This update also allows the experimental KosmicKrisp MESA driver to operate on macOS and the Dozen/dzn driver to work on WSL
Swapchain presentation now utilizes a quicker deque method
Desktop
Network configuration is now possible on a per-game basis
Fixed a Vulkan crash on macOS
Enabled VideoToolbox video accelerator on macOS
Resolved the delay issue in mouse panning
Android
Revamped the setup screen to incorporate smaller buttons instead of large pages for each operation
Addressed edge cases where game decryption and mod loading took longer than expected
Significantly decreased the final APK size
FFmpeg’s build method on Android has been aligned with that of other platforms, allowing for static linking rather than prior distribution as a shared library. Additionally, unnecessary libraries, encoders, and decoders were removed, resulting in an APK size reduction of ~9MB, now also accurately 16KB-aligned.
Eliminated the now-unneeded Release Fences Early toggle.
Removed the no longer necessary Frame Interpolation, also known as Enhanced Frame Pacing, option.
This setting was previously beneficial for frame pacing, but advancements in our Vulkan backend have rendered it unnecessary.
Internal
Initial Windows 7 support
Currently available via command-line only, with Qt support in development
Enhanced NetBSD and macOS support
Initial Android x86_64 (ChromeOS, Atom) support
Invalid kernel service paths are designated as unreachable
Vibration and mouse threads are allocated lower priority
Debug asserts now display the expression of the asserts as well
Removed unnecessary HeapTracker on Linux (fixing various performance and memory issues)
Resolved instances of the “Filesystem object at … is not a directory” warning
Stubbed parental controls and some other elements from Firmware 21
