Having safely disembarked from the tumultuous journey aboard Shinra-8, Cloud and his companions step onto the welcoming sands of Costa Del Sol. The team’s immediate concern is to secure lodging, so you’ll want to head toward the objective marker to scout out potential accommodations. As you meander down the bustling main thoroughfare, make sure to engage with two Discoveries, denoted by purple markers, to unveil new insights. Don’t forget to pick up a Wheelie, too; it’s your ticket to earning some valuable rewards. While you’re at it, inquire with the locals about hotel options, though rumors suggest snagging a room might be challenging.

Your search begins at The Royal Coast hotel, which, much to your dismay, is fully booked. As you continue your quest, you’ll encounter Yuffie casually enjoying an ice cream. Engage her in conversation and, when prompted, affirm her presence with a “Yeah. Obviously.” Your next stop is the Costa Del Sol Resort, where, unfortunately, you’ll find no vacancy once more. Just as you’re about to leave, Johnny—whom you may remember from Final Fantasy 7 Remake—appears, generously offering rooms at his establishment. Follow Johnny to his Seaside Inn. While it may not be the pinnacle of luxury, it provides a much-needed respite for our travel-weary band.

Upon entering your room, take a moment to stow away your gear. Once your weapons are securely stored, make your way back to the heart of the town. Here, you’ll be greeted by two charming ladies who will inform you of the local dress code: beach attire is a must for those wishing to set foot on the sands. To get your hands on the appropriate beachwear, you’ll have to trade in Companion Cards at the Beachware Exchange.

To secure these cards, head towards the objective marker to the north, where you’ll stumble upon the Pirate’s Rampage minigame—a test of accuracy and speed, where you’ll aim to shoot targets and rack up a high score. Your goal is to reach a minimum of 10,000 points to obtain a Companion Card. Achieve this and you might even earn additional rewards for surpassing the threshold with an exceptional performance.

Once you’ve successfully completed the Pirate’s Rampage minigame and secured your first Companion Card, it’s time to make your way to the next objective marker to engage in the Card Carnival. Here, you’ll encounter Regina, who will partner up with you for a unique cooperative version of the card game Queen’s Blood. To earn another Companion Card, you’ll need to triumph in three distinct challenges.

For the initial challenge, strategically place the Fleetwing card in the bottom-right square, followed by the Zu card in the top-left. Wrap up this first setup by positioning the Quetzalcoatl card squarely in the center square to clinch the challenge.

In the second challenge, start by placing the Fat Chocobo card in the bottom-left square. Next, position the Posh Chocobo in the bottom-right, and then nestle the Chocobo & Moogle card between them in the middle. Thanks to the bonus points you’ll accrue, you’ll edge out your opponent by the slimmest of margins.

The third and final challenge requires a bit more finesse. Begin by placing the Moogle Trio card in the middle-left square. Follow that by putting the Moogle Mage in the bottom-right square. Next to the Moogle Trio, place the Fleetwing card, and then in the top-left corner, place the Moogle Bard card. Complete the board by situating the Grasslands Wolf card in the bottom-left square.

With both Companion Cards in your possession, it’s time to return to the Beachware Exchange. Here, you can pick up a pair of Wild Surf shorts and an Ocean Chocobo shirt. Locate a Changing Booth to don your new beachwear and then proceed to the beach. A cutscene will unfold, revealing hooded figures ominously standing along the shoreline, while Aerith is seen conversing with a mysterious individual. Control will switch to Aerith after this scene; she’ll approach Tifa’s door. Aerith must now follow a similar procedure to Cloud’s to acquire Companion Cards, although she’ll be challenged with an entirely different set of minigames.

Within The Royal Coast hotel, tickle the ivories of a piano for one Companion Card, or embark on a treasure hunt to snap photographs of the four elusive Del Sol Cactuars scattered across the town. Alternatively, you can return Wheelies to their designated stations or get behind the wheel in Run Wild, the game’s version of vehicular soccer akin to Rocket League. Once Aerith and Tifa each have a Companion Card in hand, exchange them for beach-appropriate garb and dress them in these new outfits to gain access to the beach where Cloud and Barret await.

Following the cutscene that plays out on the beach, you’ll regain control of Cloud at a pivotal moment: Hojo makes an unexpected appearance on the sands and begins to release monsters into the area. As you take charge of Cloud once more, you’ll have to choose which teammates to back up. While this decision won’t alter the narrative, it does decide which characters will join you in combat against the Grasptropod.

During the battle with this mechanical menace, it will attempt to ensnare your comrades one by one. The sequence is designed such that Cloud will ultimately be the last party member captured. This predicament is part of the scripted event, and just when things seem dire, Yuffie will come to your rescue.

As the fight continues and you find yourself solo, it’s prudent to adopt a conservative strategy, prioritizing defensive abilities over aggressive assaults. Patiently build up your Summon and Limit Break gauges, using these powerful assets to carry you through this part of the battle. The encounter may not be overly challenging, particularly if you’ve stocked up on Potions, but be cautious—the threat of defeat is real and a careless moment could lead to a wipeout.

After the skirmish, the pace slows, granting Cloud some leisure time on the beach and the opportunity to bond with his comrades. Engage Tifa in dialogue and opt for “Wanna go back?” to nurture the connection between the pair. When conversing with Barret, the choice “This is on Hojo.” will resonate with him. Red XIII will appreciate the supportive “Don’t sweat it.” For Aerith, the phrase “Everybody’s got someone they hate” will strike a chord. Once you’re ready to leave the shoreline behind, make your way to the steps that lead back into town and return to the comfort of Johnny’s Seaside Inn.

Come morning, the group sets their sights on Mt. Corel, intent on tracking down the mysterious hooded figures. However, upon departure from Johnny’s Seaside Inn, they are unexpectedly waylaid by Yuffie. She throws down the gauntlet, initiating a challenge to a duel. It’s in your best interest to agree to the confrontation. Yuffie, in her typical fashion, will back down at the last moment, yet it’s advisable to welcome her into the fold when presented with the subsequent dialogue option. This decision marks the conclusion of Chapter 6.
