NegaMAME v0.283.1 has been released, introducing NNegatron, an intuitive front-end for MAME that enhances user experience. Initially launched in November 2015, it was the first front-end to unlock MAME’s machine configurations. Following MAME’s changes in May 2017, accessing crucial information for third-party front-ends became challenging. However, in June 2018, Negatron partnered with NegaMAME, which retains official MAME functionality while reintroducing a command to recover lost data. This update helps Negatron regain all features available since its inception. Users can download NegaMAME v0.283.1 for enhanced performance and functionality.

Although other front-ends have emerged since then, a significant change occurred in May 2017 with MAME v0.186, which altered how information is provided to external front-ends, restricting access to crucial data. In June 2018, Negatron showcased its capabilities once again by collaborating with a new MAME variant known as NegaMAME. NegaMAME functions identically to the official MAME but introduces a command that allows third-party front-ends to retrieve the information that has been inaccessible since v0.186, effectively enabling Negatron to regain all the functionalities it had back in 2015.
