NegaMAME v0.284.1 has been released, featuring NNegatron, a user-friendly front-end for MAME. Originally launched in November 2015, it was the first front-end to fully utilize MAME’s machine configurations. Following changes in MAME’s data access in May 2017, third-party front-ends faced limitations. In June 2018, Negatron collaborated with the new NegaMAME derivative, which behaves like official MAME but restores access to previously unavailable information. Since its initial launch in November 2015, it was the first front-end to exploit the full range of machine configurations offered by MAME. While other front-ends have also made progress since then, a significant change occurred in May 2017 with MAME v0.186. This update altered how MAME provided information to third-party front-ends, restricting access to some crucial data. However, in June 2018, Negatron once again showcased its capabilities by collaborating with a new MAME variant called NegaMAME. NegaMAME functions just like the official MAME but includes a command that allows third-party front-ends to retrieve the missing information since the v0.186 update. This restoration helped Negatron regain full access to all previous features available in 2015.
