NegaMAME v0.285.1 has been released, enhancing the NNegatron front-end for MAME. Originally launched in November 2015, NNegatron was the first to fully unlock MAME’s machine configurations. In May 2017, MAME changed how it provides information to front-ends, restricting access to essential data. NegaMAME, a derivative of MAME introduced in June 2018, restores this access by adding a command for third-party front-ends. This update allows Negatron to regain all its features from 2015. Users can download NegaMAME v0.285.1 now.

Upon its initial launch in November 2015, it was the first front-end to fully explore the potential of machine configurations within MAME. While other front-ends have since made strides, MAME altered its method for delivering information to third-party front-ends in May 2017 with v0.186, limiting access to crucial data. In June 2018, Negatron showcased its capabilities again by collaborating with the new MAME derivative, NegaMAME. This version functions identically to the official MAME but includes a command that allows third-party front-ends to retrieve the information that has been inaccessible since v0.186, enabling Negatron to regain the full range of features it had back in 2015.
