NegaMAME v0.287 has been released, enhancing the NNegatron front-end for MAME to improve user experience. Since its debut in November 2015, NNegatron was the first to unlock MAME’s machine configurations. However, changes in MAME v0.186 in May 2017 limited third-party access to vital information. In June 2018, Negatron adapted by collaborating with NegaMAME, which functions like official MAME but restores access to previously unavailable data. This allows Negatron to regain the full range of features it offered in 2015. Download NegaMAME v0.287 to benefit from these enhancements.

Since its initial launch in November 2015, it became the first front-end to fully exploit the machine configuration options available in MAME. While other front-ends have caught up, MAME’s updates in May 2017 with v0.186 altered how it shares information with third-party front-ends, limiting access to crucial data. However, in June 2018, Negatron showcased its capabilities again by collaborating with the new MAME derivative, NegaMAME. NegaMAME operates identically to official MAME but includes a command that allows third-party front-ends to retrieve the previously inaccessible data from MAME since v0.186, enabling Negatron to restore all the features it offered back in 2015.
