Epyx, Inc.
Founded in 1978 as Automated Simulations by Jon Freeman and Jim Connelley, Epyx, Inc. began as a small Bay Area developer of computer wargames and role‑playing adaptations before rebranding to Epyx in the early 1980s. Headquartered in Silicon Valley (operations later cited in Sunnyvale/Redwood City), the company expanded into action and sports titles during the 8‑bit era and published games such as Puzzle Panic, Breakdance and The Eidolon among many others. Michael Katz appears in later management during the company’s commercial shift in the mid‑1980s. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Commodore 64, Apple II, DOS, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Amiga, Atari ST, Atari 8-bit, Windows, and MSX.
