Retrom v0.7.28 is a centralized game library management service focusing on emulation, allowing for seamless gameplay across devices. Users can scan their filesystem to automatically add games, manage emulator profiles, and access their library via a web client on Windows, MacOS, and Linux. The update includes an opt-in installation for standalone mode, enabling true local copies when accessing a library from a network drive. Additionally, it fixes a bug related to installation requirements in standalone mode. Users can also conveniently download game metadata and artworks to enhance their library presentation.

Opt-in installation of games in standalone mode.
You can now set standalone mode to require ‘installation’ for games as if they were hosted on a dedicated Retrom server. This is beneficial when running standalone mode while accessing a library from a network drive. Installing in this manner guarantees you have a genuine local copy of your installed games.
This also resolves a bug where standalone mode was previously mandating installation of games in certain situations.
