Snes9x Git (2026/02/04) is a portable freeware emulator for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), allowing users to play most SNES and Super Famicom games on their PCs. Developed over three years, it features C++ coding and assembler CPU emulation for i386 Linux and Windows. Recent updates include fixes for the hat switch d-pad and enhancements to the game controller database. The new version is available for download in x64 format.

Snes9x is a free, portable Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) emulator, enabling you to enjoy most games made for the SNES and Super Famicom on your PC or workstation, including many classic titles that were exclusive to Japan. Snes9x is the product of over three years of dedicated hacking, coding, and debugging (the divorce part was just a joke). Built in C++, it features three assembler CPU emulation cores for its i386 Linux and Windows versions.
