He also finds the people have been brainwashed into thinking Wario is their leader, and Mario is a villain! Mario must now traverse 6 stages to collect 6 Golden coins needed to restore his land, and his castle. Released in 1993, Super Mario Land 2 was the first game to feature Wario!
