Ymir Version Control (April 9, 2026)

Ymir Git (2026/04/09) is a work-in-progress Sega Saturn emulator that supports game loading from BIN+CUE, IMG+CCD, MDF+MDS, and ISO files. Key features include automatic IPL ROM detection, region switching, and support for two-player gameplay with customizable keybindings. It offers RAM backups, an integrated memory manager, save states, rewinding, turbo speed, and frame stepping. The update includes a merged pull request and improvements to the VDP2 for pre-allocated buffers, enhancing stability. The release continues to evolve with many features still in development. Features:
Load games from BIN+CUE, IMG+CCD, MDF+MDS, or ISO files
Automatic detection of IPL (BIOS) ROM
Region switching is automatic
Supports up to two players using standard Control Pads on both ports (more features coming)
Fully customizable keybindings
Backup RAM and DRAM cartridge support (more features coming)
Integrated memory manager for importing and exporting saves, plus transfer options between internal and cartridge RAM
Save states
Rewind functionality (up to one minute at 60 fps), turbo speed, and frame stepping (forwards and backwards)
A feature-rich debugger currently in progress
