Hi everyone,
A friend of mine recently came across a small collection of old PlayStation 1 game guides, and we’re having a hard time finding any solid information on them. We’ve searched eBay and Google pretty extensively but have come up empty.
Some of them are free mini-guides that came with magazines back in the day, and others look like standalone walkthroughs. Titles include things like Resident Evil 2 (multiple versions), Final Fantasy VII, Tomb Raider I & II, Duke Nukem: A Time to Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies, V-Rally, and more.
We’re wondering if these have any collector value, if they’re rare, or if they’re just nostalgic curiosities with little monetary worth. If anyone here has knowledge, has seen these sell recently, or collects this kind of thing, your insights would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help
I'm a casual collector of game guides, so if I see one that's interesting and inexpensive I'll grab it. I've got a fetish for game art, maps, charts, graphs, stats, character specs, enemy lists, and bestiaries. But that said, I don't really know a good source to price them. In general, sports games are a buck or two, action games or platformers $5-$15, RPGs maybe $20-30, and rare game guides (or guides for rare games) can be upwards of $100.
