Gameplay
94 Super World Cup Chukku has the kind of immediate setup that can be appealing when you just want a match now. Select a team, choose a human opponent or the computer, and get playing. The problem is that the speedy start is not the front door to a deeper football package; it is effectively the whole package.
On the field, your input is sharply limited. You can pass and kick while attacking, then tackle in defense, while active team members are chosen automatically. That simplicity may make the basics easy to grasp, but it also narrows the room for tactical expression. You are not managing substitutions, choosing your lineup, or digging into individual player statistics between matches.
The penalty-kick option is a sensible change of pace and could make for a quick competitive break with someone beside you. Still, the lack of an actual World Cup competition is a major disappointment for a game carrying this title. A single match can be fun on its own terms; a succession of disconnected single matches does not create the momentum of a tournament.

Graphics
The diagonal-down field view gives the matches a clear, angled look suited to following the action across the pitch. It is a practical perspective for this straightforward brand of football.

Story
There is no narrative campaign here. The closest thing to a story is the one you create in an individual match: a comeback, a tense finish, or a penalty shootout against a friend.
The World Cup name suggests a journey through football’s biggest competition, yet the game does not let you play through that competition. That mismatch matters because tournament progress is normally where a sports game builds drama from match to match.
Its team selection also weakens the 1994 World Cup fantasy. Brazil is not among the 24 selectable teams, so even a casual fan may notice that the roster does not line up with the event named on the box.
Overall Experience
This is an extremely lean football game: quick to start, easy to understand, and limited almost immediately. If your goal is a short head-to-head match or a round of penalties, its directness has some value.
For anyone hoping to recreate the 1994 tournament, the payoff is hard to find. No competition mode, no substitutions, no player stats, and no manual selection of active team members strip away much of the strategy and long-term pull associated with football games.
Give 94 Super World Cup Chukku a chance only if a bare-bones Master System football match sounds like enough for the moment. Everyone else will likely feel the World Cup branding promises a larger occasion than the game delivers.
