Nintendo EAD
Nintendo Entertainment Analysis & Development began as Nintendo’s R&D4 group and was established under the EAD name around 1989 in Kyoto. Led for many years by Shigeru Miyamoto as general manager, the division operated as Nintendo’s internal development arm through to its merger into Nintendo EPD in September 2015. Teams in Kyoto produced core first-party titles across multiple Nintendo platforms; credited releases include Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Wii Sports Resort, Animal Crossing: City Folk and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass among others. The name denotes the historical EAD division (1989–2015) distinct from later EPD. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Wii, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, GameCube, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 64, Nintendo DS, SNES, NES, and Game Boy.
