PCSX-Redux Git Update (March 21, 2026)

PCSX-Redux Git (2026/03/21) is a work-in-progress fork of the PCSX PlayStation emulator. The project’s goals include updating the codebase, eliminating the plugin system to create a cohesive codebase for all emulation aspects, and using SDL/OpenGL3+/ImGui for better portability and readability. Additionally, enhancements aim to improve debugging and rendering experiences. The latest changelog notes a fix for the write8() function to correctly route SPU register writes. Although the development is ongoing, the primary objectives are as follows: Update the codebase to current standards, eliminate the plugin system, and create a unified codebase that manages all facets of Playstation emulation. Utilize SDL/OpenGL3+/ImGui for improved portability and clarity. Enhance both the debugging and rendering experiences.
