Alternative Software Ltd.

Alternative Software Ltd. is a British budget games publisher founded in 1985 and based in West Yorkshire. During the mid-1980s through the early 1990s it released well over a hundred mainly 8-bit budget titles, mixing original releases with reissues and licensed children’s tie-ins. Founder Roger Hulley has been associated with the company, which acquired and re-released older licences such as River Rescue and obtained back-catalogue rights from several small publishers in 1988; it also produced licensed games including Postman Pat and multiple Popeye sequels in that era.
