Active under the Virgin brand through the 1980s and 1990s before rebranding as Avalon in 2003, Virgin Interactive Entertainment (Europe) Ltd. was the UK-based European publishing and distribution arm of the Virgin Group, headquartered in London. The company grew out of Virgin Games/Mastertronic and lists Martin Alper among its senior executives. During the early 1990s it published and distributed games across Amiga, DOS and console platforms; notable European releases include Westwood’s Dune II and the console editions of RoboCop versus The Terminator, among many licensed and third‑party titles.
