Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom

ABOUT THE ORIGINAL GAME

Ninja Gaiden III: The Ancient Ship of Doom delivers the heart-pounding action you love in its final NES chapter. After the defeat of Ashtar and the resurrected Jaquio, Agent Irene Lew is sent to investigate a mysterious new factory, only to be seemingly slain by her friend, Ryu Hayabusa, who turns out to be an imposter. With his reputation in tatters, the real Ryu must step into Irene’s mission alone, battling deceit and danger as he fights to uncover the factory’s dark secret and clear his name.
This edition packs exclusive features that elevate the franchise: a sword-extending power-up, a devastating vertical “wave” attack, and brand-new vertically scrolling stages. The U.S. release is renowned as the toughest in the series, featuring harsher damage, a shorter default blade, limited continues, and relentless foes. You can also take the challenge on the go with the Atari Lynx port, identical to the NES original but optimized for the handheld’s compact display. Whether you’re a seasoned shinobi or new to the stealthy art of ninja warfare, Ninja Gaiden III promises an unforgettable, high-stakes adventure.
