šŸ‘‹šŸ˜.
I’m a retrogamer from Norway.
– The last couple of years I’ve played a ton of retrogames via modern day FPGA recreations of old systems such as the SuperNt, MegaSg, Nt mini Noir, the Analogue Pocket, MiSTer FPGA, ZX Spectrum NEXT K2.

About 2 weeks ago I received the Analogue Duo, meaning a recreation of NEC’s 1987
games console PC Engine/TRBGRFX-16. – Many of these games I’m discovering for the very first time and I must admit I’m a little bit jealous thinking we could have had the PCE here in the PAL territories. – I think I’ve read somewhere that the TRBGRFX-16 had a very limited presence in Europe. – I think it’s a big shame that we didn’t get to enjoy all these awesome games here where I live.

Did you have one growing up?, and was it available in your country and what was/is your impression of itā“…..

Have a nice weekendšŸ˜Š, and happy gamingšŸ„³

  1. Welcome. I have been enjoying my Analogue Turbo Duo as well.
I used to work for a Norwegian company and working for the Norwegians is one of the best things and treat employees good.

  2. Welcome. It must’ve been pretty sweet to have had Kratos up there

  3. I was born in 1985 in a small town in the middle of nowhere in the United States (Texas), and I never heard of the Turbo Grafx or PC-Engine until I was an adult. Nobody had one here. Everyone either had a SNES or a Genesis (Mega Drive). So the presence in the US was also limited. I think it was probably more well known in big cities, particularly on the coasts.

  4. Greetings from Norway Also.
I had the zx Spectrum 128k when i was a kid so that was available, many of the obscure ones never made it to Europe i think, back in the day it you had the problem with PAL vs NTSCL and different power adapters, and many the obscure ones always tried to make it or break in US and japan. They went out of business after not seeling to US and JAPANM market, so never made it to Europe.
Remember it took like one and a half /two years for blockbuster movie to make it to Europe in the start 80’s, imagine what games could take of time.

  5. Bought the TG16 and CD player at the same time, and a couple CD games. Dropped $500 on all that if I recallā€¦.1990

Still have all the games and system, although the CD took a dump and I need to get that fixed.

Some good games, but nothing compered to the Genesis. I would put it , graphically, at least, between the SMS and the Genesis.

  6. It was super uncommon here in many areas,i never seen one til ebay in 2010.I would hear about that”one kid w one” and having turbo in its name made me want one bad.Sega master system kid myself(i was the one kid w it at school lol)
