Tecmo, Ltd.
Tecmo, Ltd. began life in Japan under the name Tehkan and traces corporate roots to firms formed in the 1960s; it moved into arcade and console game development in the early 1980s. Headquartered in Japan, the company produced arcade titles such as Tehkan World Cup and home-series including Ninja Gaiden and Tecmo’s Gallop Racer entries. Key figures associated with the company’s game teams include designers who led arcade and console projects through the 1980s–2000s. Tecmo merged with Koei to form a holding group in 2009 and its active development operations were reorganized in subsequent years. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as NES, PlayStation 2, Arcade, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Wii, PSP, Amiga, and Atari ST.
