This branch of DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, enabling the execution of many older MS-DOS games that are incompatible with modern operating systems like Windows XP, Vista, Linux, and FreeBSD. Recent updates in the changelog include ongoing work on L2TP ethernet, with a non-standard implementation planned. DOSBox-X Git (2026/07/09) has been compiled. DOSBox-x is a variant of DOSBox. DOSBox simulates an Intel x86 PC, including sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., which are essential for playing many classic MS-DOS games that are unable to run on contemporary PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux, and FreeBSD.

* My L2TP implementation will follow a non-standard approach, so please use a nonstandard port, apologies for any inconvenience.
