DOSBox simulates an Intel x86 PC, including sound, graphics, mouse, joystick, modem, etc., which are essential for playing many classic MS-DOS games that are unable to run on contemporary PCs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Linux, and FreeBSD.
