Over the years, FCE Ultra branched into multiple versions. The aim of FCEUX is to integrate features from FCE Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, and FCEU-mm into a unified branch of FCEU. The ‘X’ signifies an all-in-one FCEU emulator that caters to casual players, the ROM-hacking community, and the Tool-Assisted Speedrun Community.
