Gearboy Features:
– Highly precise CPU emulation, passing cpu_instrs.gb from blargg’s tests.
– Accurate instruction and memory timing, successful with instr_timing.gb and mem_timing.gb from blargg’s tests.
– Supports Memory Bank Controllers (MBC1, MBC2, MBC3 with RTC, MBC5), as well as ROM + RAM and multicart cartridges.
– Accurate emulation of the LCD controller: includes background, window, and sprite handling with correct timing and priority including mid-scanline timing.
– Frame mixing: replicates the LCD ghosting effect observed in the original Game Boy.
– Sound emulation utilizing SDL Audio and the Gb_Snd_Emu library.
– Support for Game Boy Color.
– Built-in disassembler that can export complete disassembled memory to a text file or access it in real-time.
– Ability to save battery-powered RAM cartridges to a file.
– Supports save states.
– Compressed ROM support (ZIP deflate).
– Game Genie and GameShark cheat support.
– Cross-platform compatibility: functional on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Raspberry Pi, iOS, and as a libretro core (RetroArch).
