Gentleman Changelog:
PC Game Launcher Type
Introduced a new PC Game launcher type.
This functions similarly to the existing Application launcher, but designates PC as the platform instead of Application.
This ensures PC games are accurately displayed in system-based views while maintaining the straightforward .exe launch behavior.
Systems Menu
A new optional Systems menu has been added.
This menu only shows systems currently utilized by existing launcher files.
Upon selecting a system, Gentleman will now present a single flat alphabetical game list for that system instead of duplicating the launcher/folder structure.
Example:
Systems → PlayStation 2 → all PlayStation 2 games
The Systems menu is disabled by default for new users and can be enabled from Settings.
Enhanced API Structure
The API now features a clearer distinction between system-based browsing and launcher-based browsing.
Systems API = flat library view
Launchers API = launcher/folder structure view
Recent updates include:
GET /api/systems now retrieves currently utilized systems
GET /api/games-by-system now delivers a flat alphabetical list of games for the selected system
Game entries now include their source launcher for reliable launching
Introduced GET /api/launchers
Existing launcher/folder browsing remains accessible via /api/menu, /api/launchers, and /api/games
API documentation has also been revised.
Update Popup Improvements
The update message window has been enhanced:
Renamed Changelog to Release Notes
Release Notes button now has improved spacing
Release Notes are now scrollable for lengthy text
Pressing Back from Release Notes now returns to the update message without closing it immediately
Updater Note
The Gentleman Updater was enhanced in the previous release. If you haven’t updated the updater yet, it is recommended to download the latest version as well.
Summary
This update enhances the Systems menu and API by structuring systems as a flat game library, while preserving the original launcher/folder structure for user and app accessibility.
