NanoBoyAdvance Git Update (May 13, 2026)

NanoBoyAdvance Git (2026/05/13) is a C++17 emulator for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, designed for minimalism and accuracy. It fully implements the core hardware, allowing for the emulation of almost all games, including those with tricky edge-cases. Recent updates include fixes to the audio processing unit (APU) for better frequency writes. To run the emulator, a BIOS file is required, which can be a dumped original or an open source alternative. This BIOS file must be named bios.bin and placed in the same directory as the executable. Download links are provided for the emulator.

The aim is to build a minimal, accurate, and reasonably efficient Game Boy Advance emulator using modern C++. The emulator fully implements the core hardware with high precision. Most games can be emulated without any known issues, including the ‘Classic NES’ titles that exploit various edge cases and undefined behavior.

Nanoboyadvance Git changelog:
* APU: corrected writes to frequency for PSG0 and PSG1 (Closes #389)

Running
To run NanoboyAdvance, you will need a BIOS file. You can either dump your own or obtain an open-source replacement online (https://github.com/Nebuleon/ReGBA/blob/master/bios/gba_bios.bin). The BIOS file should be named bios.bin and placed in the same directory as the executable. Please note that a replacement BIOS may not offer the same accuracy as the original.
