PadForge Version 3.2.2

PadForge v3.2.2 has been released, enhancing its functionality as a controller mapping utility for Windows. This update focuses on gyro features, enabling precise tuning for motion passthrough sensitivity, deadzone, and calibration. A significant fix addresses a Bluetooth DualSense bug, ensuring that the right stick and triggers function correctly. The update also aligns scale constants with SDL3’s PS5 driver and improves HID reports for virtual controllers. New features include a passthrough toggle within the Gyro tab and translated gyro-related strings in nine languages. Users are instructed to update by replacing the existing PadForge.exe file.

PadForge v3.2.2 has been released. This modern controller mapping utility for Windows allows for mapping any controller, keyboard, or mouse to virtual Xbox 360, DualShock 4, custom DirectInput, or MIDI controllers using ViGEmBus, vJoy, and Windows MIDI Services, making them appear as real hardware to games and applications.

PadForge changelog:
The PadForge 3.2.2 update introduces gyro functionality. The Gyro tab tuning enhances motion passthrough, allowing the HID reports sent to virtual controllers to remain in their native sensor frame. A bug affecting Bluetooth DualSense, which swapped the right stick with the triggers, has also been resolved.
Enhancements in gyro tab tuning now facilitate motion passthrough.
Sensitivity, deadzone, smoothing, inversion, real-world calibration, and gyro space projection are applied to the motion passed to games. Calibration bias is consistently subtracted, even when the rest of the chain is bypassed. A new toggle in the Gyro tabโ€”Apply Gyro Tuning to Motion Passthroughโ€”lets you maintain raw motion if a game requires the device’s native feel.
Correction of at-rest drift on virtual DualSense
The HID reports that PadForge generates for virtual DualSense controllers and the DSU broadcast on slot motion are now presented in SDL’s native sensor frame, eliminating previous point-inversion issues. This prior point-inversion conflicted with the gyro and acceleration sign conventions expected by consumer sensor fusion, resulting in noticeable yaw drift while stationary. Scale constants now align with SDL3’s PS5 driver (gyro 1024 per deg/sec, accel 8192 per g), and the sensor timestamp outputs at the DualSense report’s 0.33ยตs tick rate.
Fix for Bluetooth DualSense stick/trigger swap
A Bluetooth-connected DualSense now correctly reports its right stick and triggers on their respective axes. Previously, moving the right stick altered the trigger values, and pressing a trigger adjusted the right stick. This fix has been validated against ds.daidr.me and is included as HIDMaestro v1.3.13.
New Motion Passthrough card
The passthrough toggle is now featured in its own Motion Passthrough card at the top of the Gyro tab, designed similarly to the Calibration and Tuning cards below, and includes a Reset All button.
Labeling updates
The Invert Yaw checkbox has been rebranded to Invert Yaw / Roll (X), as it consistently affected both axes. This label clarifies that Yaw + Roll corresponds to what the Steam Input convention defines as “horizontal,” aligning with the Horizontal Sensitivity slider.
Translations
All gyro-related text has been translated into the nine PadForge locales: German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Dutch, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified Chinese.
Installation
To install, ensure PadForge is not running, replace your existing PadForge.exe with the one from this release, and relaunch the application.
