PadForge v3.6.1 has been released, enhancing controller mapping on Windows. This utility allows users to map any controller, keyboard, or mouse to virtual Xbox 360, DualShock 4, DirectInput, or MIDI controllers through ViGEmBus, vJoy, and Windows MIDI Services. The latest update fixes a poll-rate regression affecting mouse macros, which previously dropped the input poll rate from 1000 Hz to around 200 Hz. Now, mouse delta is accumulated and injected from a dedicated thread, maintaining full polling rates. Installation is straightforward, with settings retained, and it is compatible with Windows 10 1809 or later. Download available.

We addressed a polling rate regression affecting mouse macros.
Fix
Earlier, a macro utilizing Mouse Move or Mouse Scroll from a stick or trigger would reduce the input polling rate from 1000 Hz to about 200 Hz while the stick was engaged. The macro used a SendInput call on the 1000 Hz polling thread, executing once per action per poll. The injected mouse movement was processed synchronously by Windows (traversing every process’s low-level mouse hook chain), causing each call to delay the loop when the cursor moved.
Now, PadForge collects the mouse delta on the polling thread and injects it from a separate thread, ensuring that the polling loop maintains its full rate regardless of how the mouse macro is activated. Mouse performance remains consistent.
Installation and Upgrade
Replace PadForge.exe in your PadForge directory, or download the ZIP file below and extract it. All settings will carry over. No need to reinstall the driver or migrate.
Compatibility
Remains the same as 3.6.0. Works on Windows 10 1809 or later, .NET 10 self-contained, and requires elevated permissions.
