ShadPS4 v0.16.0 has been released. This early PS4 emulator, developed in C++, is now available for Windows and Linux.

The shadPS4 team is thrilled to present the release of shadPS4 v0.16.0, the most significant update to date. This version features substantial improvements in emulation accuracy, graphics, audio, input management, user experience, platform compatibility, and developer tools.
With hundreds of modifications contributed by many developers, v0.16.0 marks a crucial advancement towards broader game compatibility and a richer PlayStation 4 emulation experience.
Key Features
New Configuration System
v0.16.0 lays the groundwork for a revamped configuration system. This updated architecture streamlines settings management, enhances game-specific configuration, and prepares for future features.
The transition also includes support for saving and trophy migration to assist users in smoothly moving from older versions.
Initial OpenAL Audio Backend
A significant milestone is the addition of an OpenAL-based audio backend. This allows for a more adaptable and portable audio framework for upcoming enhancements and expands compatibility with PS4 audio features.
Camera Support Begins
Initial support for camera emulation is now available, allowing us to move closer to compatibility with titles and applications that depend on PlayStation Camera functionality.
Local Multiplayer Support
One of the most requested features has finally arrived. Multiple players can now enjoy supported games together through new local multiplayer capabilities, broadening gameplay options within the emulator.
Big Picture Mode
A fresh Big Picture Mode offers a console-like experience tailored for controllers and living-room setups. This interface includes dedicated settings, game folder management, and several user-friendly improvements.
Screenshot Functionality
Users can now take screenshots directly from the emulator, with options for overlays or game-only captures.
HTTP Library Developments
Considerable progress has been made on the PS4 networking stack, with the initial significant implementation stages of the HTTP subsystem included in this release. These enhancements improve compatibility with games and applications relying on online communication APIs.
