Ymir Git, released on June 18, 2026, is a work-in-progress Sega Saturn emulator that supports loading games from various file formats, including BIN+CUE and ISO. Key features include automatic BIOS detection, region switching, up to two-player support, customizable keybindings, RAM cartridge management, save states, rewinding, and turbo speed. It also offers a basic debugger. The recent update (changelog) includes fixes for horizontal scroll increments and handling of the “Play Disc” command. Region switching without manual input
Support for up to two players using standard Control Pads on both ports (more features to follow)
Completely customizable key mappings
Support for backup RAM and DRAM cartridges (additional features coming soon)
Integrated memory manager for importing and exporting saves, as well as transferring between internal and cartridge RAM
Save states functionality
Rewinding capabilities (up to one minute at 60 fps), turbo mode, and frame stepping (forward and backward)
A feature-rich debugger still in development
