Gameplay
The first few seconds of Quod Init Exit are wonderfully easy to understand. Run, jump, catch food. Then the game starts asking you to make snap decisions about position and timing as items zip across the screen. You are not simply collecting everything in sight: poison means an early death, while too little food leaves the pig to starve. That gives its simple platforming a nicely frantic rhythm.
What makes the loop more interesting than a basic score chase is the finish condition. Filling the hunger meter does not immediately clear the level. You still have to catch the toilet as it scrolls through and ride it off-screen. That last dash turns success into a small panic: after working to eat enough, you need to stay alert rather than relax.
It is also unapologetically harsh. Missing the toilet ends the game, just as poison and starvation do, so a strong run can collapse quickly. That will either be the point or the dealbreaker. If you enjoy compact arcade games that demand clean reactions and reward learning a single screen’s flow, the repeated restarts have bite. If you need variety, progression, or room to recover from mistakes, its narrow loop may wear out fast.

Graphics
The action stays on one screen, with the pig hopping between platforms while food, poison bottles, and eventually a toilet scroll past. That simple layout keeps the important objects easy to spot when the pace picks up, and the toilet exit gives each successful feeding run a suitably absurd visual target.

Story
There is no sprawling tale to carry here; the whole premise is the joke. A hungry pig must eat, avoid poison, and make it to a toilet before the consequences of missing it end the run. The Latin-derived title tells you exactly how broad the humor is going to be.
That bluntness works because the game does not pretend to be anything grander. The toilet is not a decorative gag pasted onto an unrelated platformer; it is the goal that dictates how you play each level. Hunger, eating, and escape are all tied to the same ridiculous setup.
Whether the humor lands depends on your tolerance for toilet comedy. It is juvenile by design, but the concept is at least committed and clear. You know the stakes immediately, and every failure follows the same gross little logic.
Overall Experience
Quod Init Exit is a focused novelty arcade platformer: one pig, one screen, incoming food, dangerous poison, and a moving toilet you cannot afford to miss. Its strongest quality is how little setup it needs. You can understand the goal at a glance and immediately start chasing a cleaner run.
The payoff comes from handling several small pressures at once—feeding the meter, staying alive, and preparing for the exit—rather than from discovering new systems. That makes it a better fit for short, repeatable sessions than for an all-evening game. The cruelty of sudden endings is part of its old-school arcade character, though it can make losses feel more punishing than funny.
Give it a chance if a deliberately crude premise and compact reaction-based platforming sound like a good match for your Commodore 64. Its joke is one-note, but the rules are tightly tied to that joke, and the chase for a successful toilet escape has enough tension to make the concept more than a throwaway gag.
