Gameplay

The first practical benefit of the Limited Edition is immediate: you begin with extra firearm options instead of treating the bundle as a purely cosmetic badge. The exclusive MP7 submachine gun is the headline item, and the early TOZ-194 and 870MC2 shotgun access gives you three additional choices from day one.

That makes the edition most appealing if you expect to spend time in Medal of Honor’s multiplayer. Early weapon access is not a new mode or a separate campaign, but it does mean you can try different close-range approaches without waiting for those particular shotguns to become available through the usual route.

There is also an invitation to the Battlefield 3 beta. At the time of this package, that was a meaningful extra for anyone already interested in EA’s next military shooter. As a purchase today, the weapon unlocks are the more concrete reason to choose this edition.

Graphics

The PlayStation 3 package includes a digitally remastered version of Medal of Honor: Frontline, giving that version an additional military shooter to put alongside the main game. It is the only edition here with that extra visual trip back to Frontline.

Story

This Limited Edition does not frame its value around a different story. Its additions are weapon access, a beta invitation, and—on PlayStation 3—a separate remastered Frontline inclusion.

That matters because you should buy it for the extras, not in expectation of an expanded narrative version of Medal of Honor. The core game is the same Medal of Honor included across the release.

Frontline changes the equation on PS3 simply by adding another full Medal of Honor title to the package. If revisiting that older entry sounds worthwhile to you, the PS3 edition has a much stronger argument than the other versions.

Overall Experience

Medal of Honor (Limited Edition) is a sensible special edition rather than an extravagant one. The MP7 and early shotgun access offer useful multiplayer variety right away, but they will matter most to you if you plan to stick with the competitive side of the game.

Windows and Xbox 360 owners get a modest bundle: the main game, weapon access, and the Battlefield 3 beta invitation. That is nice launch-period value, though it is not a dramatically different edition of Medal of Honor.

On PlayStation 3, the remastered Medal of Honor: Frontline pushes this from a minor upgrade to the version worth seeking out. That extra title gives the package a real sense of breadth, while the other bonuses sweeten the start. Choose PS3 if you have the option; otherwise, view the Limited Edition as a convenient multiplayer-focused upgrade.
