Beam Software Pty., Ltd.
Founded in Melbourne in 1980, Beam Software Pty. Ltd. began as an Australian development studio run by Alfred Milgrom and Naomi Besen. Active from the early home-computer era into the 1990s, the team produced classics such as The Hobbit and The Way of the Exploding Fist and later shifted toward console and handheld work with titles including Shadowrun, Tom and Jerry: Frantic Antics, WCW: The Main Event and We’re Back: A Dinosaur Story. Beam operated under names including Laser Beam Entertainment and later relaunched as Melbourne House before being acquired in 1999. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Commodore 64, NES, ZX Spectrum, Game Boy, Windows, DOS, SNES, Amstrad CPC, Genesis, and Game Gear.
