Data East Corporation

Data East Corporation began in Tokyo on April 20, 1976, founded by engineer Tetsuo Fukuda. During the 1980s the company produced arcade hardware and cartridge-based systems alongside a wide stream of arcade and home titles, including BurgerTime, Vapor Trail and RoboCop among others. Its U.S. operations traded as Data East USA and handled North American distribution and local releases such as Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend. Financial troubles led to bankruptcy in June 2003; portions of the game library were later handled by other Japanese firms. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Arcade, Windows, Nintendo Switch, NES, Wii, PlayStation 4, Genesis, Commodore 64, SEGA Saturn, and ZX Spectrum.
