Irem Corp.

Irem Corporation began in Osaka in the late 1960s as IPM, founded by Kenzo Tsujimoto, and later adopted the Irem name. Across the 1980s and early 1990s it operated as an arcade developer and publisher best known for R-Type, Moon Patrol and Kung-Fu Master, and for later arcade projects such as In the Hunt and Undercover Cops. The original company wound down its in‑house game development in 1994; its development group was later reestablished separately as Irem Software Engineering in 1997. Regional branches included a U.S. division, Irem America, for North American distribution. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Arcade, NES, Wii, Commodore 64, Nintendo Switch, SNES, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, PlayStation 4, and Wii U.
